Gloria brought this recipe from her house when we got married. It was part of the dowry. Before preparing, make some Crostini. (Italian Toast)

Crostini

12 slices Italian bread, cut 1/2 inch thick. The coarser the better.
1/4-cup extra virgin olive oil
2 or 3 garlic cloves, halved

1. Preheat oven to 350 deg. With a pastry brush, lightly brush both sides of bread with olive oil. Place on a baking sheet.
2. Bake for 5 minutes. Turn slices and bake 3 to 5 minutes longer, or until lightly toasted.
3. Rub toast with garlic halves. 4. Store in an airtight container for up to two days.
