Egg In A Hole


Sourdough or Italian Bread , 1 large slice
1 large egg
Olive Oil 1 teasp(about)
Garlic 1 clove crushed
Red Pepper Seeds , 1/4 tsp
Provolone or Parmesan Cheese, shaved 1 tbsp

Make hole in bread. Save piece for use as bread crumbs
Heat a small skillet. Brush both sides of bread with olive oil and
add to skillet. Add oil to cover hole. Add crushed garlic. Heat for 1 minute, discard garlic.Continue heating until bottom starts to turn brown, about 1 minute.
Turn slice over .
Add egg to hole. Break yolk (do not scramble).
Add shaved provolone, about a tablespoonful.
Add red pepper seeds and salt to taste.
Cover and heat until white of egg is cooked and cheese has melted, a minute or two.
