A Pit Stop
We were at lunch and the harbormaster at the local marina , Sandwich MA , told us the following story.
" The call came from
a boat asking for permission to tie up at our dock. One of the questions I asked was the size of his boat. The answer was 118 feet.
I said OK and immediately rounded up all the help I could get for this undertaking.
A beautiful old wooden boat pulled up alongside
the dock and a gangway was lowered. A woman,, clutching a small poodle dog , came down and walked away from the dock. I approached
the captain , who wanted to know the charge. When I asked him how long they planned to stay, he said ......,
'about ten minutes.....I'm
ashamed to tell you I was told to come in here so the dog could go to the bathroom on natural grass.'
The charge was $300.00
